The vision of UBC’s workplace continues to be created by its people – faculty, staff and students. What began as a detailed document (the People Plan Discussion Paper) has now moved to tangible projects and initiatives that support the growing needs of our workforce.
As Focus on People develops, some goals have been met, while at the same time we identify areas for improvement. Metrics, such as the Workplace Experiences Survey, can now begin to track recruitment and retention patterns and determine where we need to focus our priorities. The work of the Integration Team continues to support the individual needs of departments who seek to make people a priority, but aren’t sure where to begin the conversation. Our accomplishments and hindsights are documented in biannual and annual publications for public discourse and dialogue.
Most importantly, UBC’s Place and Promise has pledged to provide an outstanding work environment for our staff and faculty, ensuring that a great employee experience is synonymous with a great student experience.
