Wisdom Tettey came to UBC Okanagan as the new Dean of the Faculty of Critical and Creative studies at the beginning of the 2011-2012 academic year. When he arrived from the University of Calgary and began sitting on the Dean’s Council, Tettey was invited to provide input for a new academic leadership program because of his conflict management and strategic leadership experience. “We outlined areas of need, and deliberated about what is needed to build a strong, effective day-to-day team of leaders.” [Click to read more...]
Since 2009, UBC has created many programs to raise faculty, staff and student awareness about the importance of mental well-being, including UBC Thrive. Developed by Suzanne Jolly and Patty Hambler, UBC staff who promote health and wellness on campus, Thrive is a week of events held in October to promote awareness around positive mental health within the UBC community.
